In Phonology Assistant (PA), a word list displays records from data sources of the open project. Each row corresponds to a record. Each column corresponds to a field.
In Data Corpus view, the word list displays all the records.
In Search view or Distribution Charts view, a search result word list displays the records for which the Phonetic field matches a search pattern.
You can do any of the following:
Sort records by any column in a word list.
Play audio data associated with records.
Find a string of characters in columns of a word list.
The effect of sorting and grouping in PA is similar to filtering in other programs.
To move to the first record, press Ctrl+Home.
To move to the last record, press Ctrl+End.
A red
triangle () at the upper
right of a cell indicates uncertain
phones.
A green
triangle () at the lower
right of a cell indicates experimental
transcriptions.
At the lower edge of a word list, the Record View pane displays all the data fields for the selected record.
At the lower edge of the window, the status bar displays the number of the selected record and the total number of records in the active word list.
To change the appearance of a word list, you can drag with the mouse.
In the Options dialog box, you can do the following:
On the Word Lists tab, you can change the appearance of word lists.
On the Sorting tab, you can change the default sorting options for word lists.
