Phonology Assistant (PA) can play audio data associated with records in word lists.
To select one record, click a row in a word list.
To extend a selection to more than one record, do one of the following:
To select adjacent rows, drag the mouse.
To select adjacent rows, hold down Shift, click a row, and then release Shift.
To select additional rows that are not adjacent, hold down Ctrl, click one or more rows, and then release Ctrl.
On the File
menu, click
Playback.
Press the keyboard shortcut F5.
On the Data
Corpus toolbar, Search
toolbar, or Distribution
Charts toolbar, click .

speaker icon appears at the left end of a row when PA plays the audio
file for the record in that row.
On the File
menu, click Playback
Repeatedly.
Press Ctrl+F5.
On the toolbar, click the

and then click
Playback
Repeatedly.
On the File
menu, click Stop
Playback.
Press F8.
On the toolbar, click the
down arrow ()
at the right of

Playback.
On the toolbar, click the

Playback
Speed.
Adjust the slider on the speed scale.
To play the audio data, click the Play hyperlink at the bottom of the speed scale.
While playing Speech Analyzer files at speeds other than 100%, the mouse pointer may appear to jump to the Speech Analyzer window. To keep the mouse pointer from jumping, clear the Automatically move point to the default button in a dialog box check box in the Snap To area on the Pointer Options tab of the Mouse Properties dialog box. (You can open the dialog box from Control Panel.)
For SFM or Toolbox data sources, you must map a Standard Format marker to the Audio File field in the Standard Format Data Source Properties dialog box.
If an audio file path is relative in the data source, PA combines the relative path with each of the following (in order) until it finds the audio file:
Data source file path
Project file (.pap) path
Program file (pa.exe) path
