Search view is the heart of Phonology Assistant. You can do any of the following:
Search the data corpus for combinations of phones in various environments.
Search patterns can include any of the following elements: phones, descriptive features, distinctive features, or classes of phones.
Display multiple search result word lists to make comparisons.
Sort and group the search result word lists to find patterns in the data.
Set search options to control the scope of searches (for example, to ignore stress).
Using items selected from the toolbar and Patterns & Pattern Building panel, build a search pattern in the Current Search Pattern box, and then use that pattern to search the data corpus for matching records.
Search view is divided into three areas:
The Current Search Pattern box contains the search pattern that you are building.
The Patterns & Pattern Building panel provides items for pattern building, recently used patterns, and saved patterns.
The search result area consists of search result tab groups.
To switch to Search view, you can press Ctrl+Alt+S.
To omit undefined characters from phonetic searches, select the Ignore these characters when searching phonetic data check box in the Undefined Phonetic Characters dialog box.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqHlWuBvlZs&feature=youtu.be shows an example of building a search pattern.
The goal of the search pattern in this video is to filter for entries starting with a plosive, followed by a liquid or a nasal, with an optional vowel in between, e.g., bla, bila, bala, kima, kama, kra, kera, kira, kara, etc.
You can also learn other things to do from this video, even if this goal is different from yours.
