Phonology Assistant initially displays word lists ungrouped. A group is a set of rows for which data in the primary sort field is identical. A group heading displays the data that is common to all records in the group and the number of records in the group.
If you group by the Phonetic field in search result word lists, only a specific part of the data is identical in each group. It depends on which part of the search pattern is sorted first in phonetic sort options.
To group a word list by the primary sort field, do one of the following:
On the View menu, click Group by Primary Sort Field.
On the Data
Corpus toolbar, Search
toolbar or Distribution
Charts toolbar, click Group
by Primary Sort Field.
Each group heading displays a unique data value, followed by a list of the records in the group.
To ungroup a word list,
click Group
by Primary Sort Field again.
To view all the records
under the group headings, click
Expand All Groups.
To view only the group headings,
click Collapse
All Groups.
To expand an individual
group that is collapsed, click the plus at the
left of the group heading.
To collapse an individual
group that is expanded, click the minus at the
left of the group heading.
The column heading of the primary sort field displays an up or down arrow.
