This dialog box might appear when you open a new project in PA. In this case, you will not need to do all of these steps.
Otherwise, do the steps below to create a new Phonology Assistant project:
On the File menu, click New Project.
The New Project Settings dialog box appears.
Type the new Project Name, Language Name, Language Code, Researcher, Transcriber, Speaker, and Comments in the boxes.
The Ethnologue link opens http://www.ethnologue.com/browse/names.
In the Data Sources area, you can do any of the following:
To add a data source to the list, click Add.
To remove a data source, select it in the list, and then click Remove.
To specify the properties of a data source, select it in the list, and then click Properties. Do one of the following:
In the Load column, do the following:
Select () each data source you
want to load into the project now.
Clear () any data source that
you do not want to load now.
To save the new project, click OK.
A question box appears so you can verify that you want to load that project.
To load the selected data sources, click Yes.
The new project opens.
In some rare cases, you can use the Distinctive Feature Set control here in the New Project Settings dialog box, or in the Project Settings dialog box, to choose a different distinctive feature set.
You can create a new project without adding any data sources. At a later time, use the Project Settings dialog box to load them.
Because it is not necessary to specify properties for data sources of type SA and PAXML, the Properties button is unavailable when data sources of those types are selected.
