When you start Phonology Assistant (PA), the project used in the previous session is automatically opened if you selected () that PA installer option.
Do one of these steps to open a project:
On the File menu, click Open Project.
Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+O.
The Open Project dialog box appears and lists projects that PA found on your computer.
The Type column shows the source tool of the data (FieldWorks, Toolbox and so on); New means the project has never been opened in PA.
Do any of these steps in the Open Project dialog box:
Select () Show Full Project File Paths to see the entire path (url) to each project file.
Select () Open in New Window if you want to open the project in a new PA window. Then you can have multiple projects open at the same time.
Click the project you want to open, and then click Open.
If the Type column showed New, the New Project Settings dialog box appears. In this case, PA will add the project name, language name and code if it was found in the data.
Add the remaining metadata manually.
Click the Properties button to open the FieldWorks Data Source Properties dialog box so you can verify the properties.
Click OK to open the project in PA.
If you do not see the project you want to open in the list, click the link to browse for that project file on your computer. You may need to use this if you restore a project to a another (non default) folder.

To reopen a project, you can click its name on the most recently used file list on the File menu.
