In the Project Settings or New Project Settings dialog box, click a FieldWorks project in the Data Sources list, and then click Properties.
The FieldWorks Data Source Properties dialog box appears.
Specify which of the fields in FieldWorks (FLEx) has the phonetic data, and the writing systems used in FLEx for that data.
Select one of the following:
Is stored in the vernacular form
Select ()
if a vernacular field other than a Pronunciation field stores phonetic data.
Then, click the Records will be created for button, and choose the field that stores the phonetic data.
Is stored in the pronunciation field.
Select ()
if one or more Pronunciation fields
store phonetic data.
Choose first pronunciation only or each pronunciation.
Use the Writing System control to choose the writing system.
This can include custom fields that you have added in FLEx. However, Phonology Assistant (PA) is not aware of those custom fields until after you have loaded (viewed) your FLEx data in PA.
Choose which fields to display in the Data Corpus view and Distribution Charts view when search results tabs are displayed as follows:
In the Fields area, do any of the following:
Click a cell in the Field column and choose a field.
Click a cell in the Writing System column choose a writing system
To save changes, click OK.
Load the FLEx data into PA.
If you want to display a custom field, open theĀ FieldWorks Data Source Properties dialog box again. Then, choose the custom field and its writing system in the Fields area.
