Phonology Assistant Help

In the active word list, you can jump from Phonology Assistant to that record (entry) in the editor.

The type determines the requirements for jumping from PA to an editor:

Type	Requirement
FW7	The editor is FieldWorks Language Explorer (FLEx). FLEx must be installed on the computer. It does not need to be running when you click Edit Source Record. If it is not running, then it will start automatically.
Toolbox	The editor is Toolbox. Toolbox must be installed on the computer and it must be running with the data source (database) open. In the Standard Format Data Source Properties dialog box, the first sort field for that database must be specified. To learn what the first sort field is for the Toolbox database, on the Toolbox Database menu, click Sorting. In the Toolbox Database menu, click Properties. Then click the Jump Path tab. Add a field if none are listed.
SA	The editor is Speech Analyzer (SA) for audio file transcriptions. SA must be installed on the computer. It does not need to be running when you click Edit Source Record. If it is not running, then it will start automatically.
SFM	You need to specify an editor in the Standard Format Data Source Properties dialog box, Editor box.

If a project is open when PA becomes the active program, it determines whether or not any of the project data sources have changed. When PA finds one or more data sources have changed, it automatically reloads the project data sources.

Change must be saved in the edited source data (in the editor) before PA can display the changes.
