Class

In Phonology Assistant, a class is a set of phones, descriptive features, or distinctive features. The items in the set are its members.

Types of classes include:

• Descriptive Features Class

• Distinctive Features Class

• Phone Class.

Here is a sample Classes dialog box.

• Open the Classes dialog box from the Tools menu:

• There is a Classes tab in both the Patterns & Pattern Building panel and the Charts & Chart Building panel. They display the classes you can use. See: Pattern building items or Chart building items.
