In Consonant Chart or Vowel Chart view, the Histogram pane displays the number of times (frequency) phones occur in the data sources of the open project.
The horizontal axis displays all the consonants (or vowels) that occur in the data sources of the open project. The vertical axis displays an ascending numeric scale.
Each vertical bar graphically represents the number of occurrences of a phone.
To show or hide the Histogram pane, click
on the toolbar.
To adjust the height of the Histogram pane, move the mouse pointer over the horizontal splitter bar between the Histogram pane and the chart.
When the pointer becomes
a double-headed vertical arrow (), drag the splitter
bar up or down.
When a phone on the horizontal axis does not have a histogram bar, it does not mean there are no occurrences of the phone. It means there are so few the histogram bar is too short to be visible, given the vertical scale of the histogram. The histogram bar might become visible if you increase the height of the pane.
To view information about a specific phone, position the mouse pointer over the phone or the histogram bar for the phone.
A phone occurrence ScreenTip appears.
To search for a phone, double-click the phone or the histogram bar for the phone.
