The Undefined Phonetic Characters dialog box appeared automatically or when opened manually.
In Phonology Assistant (PA), the phonetic characters consist primarily of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) in the Unicode character encoding.

PA includes some non-IPA characters in the standard inventory.
Do one of the following:
In the data sources, edit the transcriptions to use only the phonetic characters defined in the standard inventory.
When you see an experimental transcriptions ScreenTip, convert undefined characters to the corresponding standard characters.
Continue working with the transcriptions as they currently exist.
However, an undefined character has neither a type (consonant, vowel, diacritic, and so on) nor any features (aspirated, bilabial, close, and so on).
